Accessibility Statement
ZeroDataUpload wants every visitor to be able to use its tools, read its guides and reach its policies, whatever device or assistive technology they use. This statement describes where the site stands, what we check, what we know is still wrong, and how to tell us about a problem.
Standard we aim for
The site pages (homepage, tool guides, blog, information and legal pages) aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. The 31 tools keep their original interfaces, which were built before this standard was adopted for the site; they are being brought up to it as they are revised.
What is in place
- Every page has a skip link to the main content, one main landmark, a single top-level heading and a navigation that works with the keyboard; the menu closes with Escape and returns focus to its button.
- Every control shows a visible focus ring when reached with the keyboard; the search palette and the cookie banner are dialogs that keep focus inside them.
- Images carry text alternatives; decorative icons are hidden from assistive technology; scrollable code blocks can be reached and scrolled with the keyboard.
- Dark and light themes on the guides, blog, listing and information pages; text can be enlarged to 200 percent without loss of content; no page is wider than a 360-pixel phone screen.
- Animations on the homepage stop for visitors who have asked their system to reduce motion.
- The site pages are checked with an automated accessibility audit on one page of each kind, in both themes, at phone and desktop widths, before changes are published.
Known limitations
- Some secondary text (post dates, category tags, captions and some links) does not reach the 4.5:1 contrast ratio in the light theme on the blog, guide and legal pages. The dark theme is the default and passes more of these checks. We are adjusting the colours.
- The headings in the site footer are one level lower than the page structure would suggest.
- The tools themselves have not all been audited with assistive technology. Interfaces that rely on dragging (the picture puzzle, image cropping, page arrangement in the PDF tool) may not have a keyboard alternative for every action.
- Advertisements are delivered by Google and are outside our control.
Tell us about a problem
If a page or tool is hard to use with your assistive technology, please tell us through the contact form (every page's footer has a "Report a Problem" link that fills in the page address) or by email to leenasoftwaresolutions@gmail.com. Say which page, what you were trying to do and which browser and assistive technology you use. We aim to reply within a week and to fix confirmed problems in the next update; fixes are listed on the What's New page.
Technical notes
The site is plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript. It depends on JavaScript for the tools and for the search; navigation, the guides, the blog and the legal pages can be read without it. It works in current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on Windows, macOS, Android and iOS; the tools need a current browser and may not run on very old devices.
